BYC ride (level - 4)

Ramadevara Betta

In an effort to promote cycling as an alternative, non-polluting form of transportation, I Cycle has designed different trails to cater to different capabilities. The trails are rated based on difficulty levels, Level-1 being the entry level and Level-5 for challenging experienced cyclists. In this list of levels, RAMADEVARA BETTA cycling trek falls under Level-4.

In this trek, we start cycling from Library in Bangalore university campus, Bangalore and cycle all the way to the summit of Ramadevara betta, which is about 45kms away. Ramadevara betta, situated near the town of Ramanagara, is famous as the shooting spot for the legendary Hindi movie, Sholay! The rocks and boulders of this hill have played host to Gabbar, Kaalia and co. After a brief stop at the hill, we will cycle back to Bangalore. This makes it a cycling trek of 90kms, with no support vehicle to ferry the cycles. The trail that I Cycle uses for this trek is through big banyan tree, manchanbele dam and avoids the heavy traffic Mysore road highway. We will cycle through some villages and fields and it is mostly off-main road only.
